How you lose weight by dieting is simple. The three methods, of the many, were mentioned above. The first method is called ketosis. It is abbreviated keto for short. You would determine your current caloric intake and subtract something like 400 calories from it. There are literally hundreds of other diets out there. The important thing when dieting, and this cannot be stressed enough, is to have a realistic goal which you plan on reaching in a realistic time frame. Find something that works for you, and something that you can maintain even after you hit your goal.

In addition to dieting, you need to exercise. Exercising burns calories. How you lose weight with exercise varies. On method is cardio workouts. Steady state cardio is highly popular and can have good results. You run long distances, bike long distances or jump on that elliptical machine and go for a long time. Be sure to stretch and remain hydrated for safety. High intensity interval training is also a good cardio workouts. To do this, simply exercise hard for 30 seconds, then rest for 90. Just like a steady state cardio workout, warm-up and stay hydrated. Strength training is also great for fat loss. The muscle gained makes one look more powerful and mitigates fat. Muscle does weigh more than fat. You can lift in 3 ways. The first is Olympic. These lifts are highly athletic and require a coach. The second is bodybuilding, which make you not only lose weight but look big and muscular. The last is power-lifting, which allows you to brag to your friends about strength feats. But just being active is an excellent way to exercise. If you aren’t in for the long runs, bike rides, or elliptical machine marathon; and you don’t want to “pick things up and put them down” (referencing the Planet Fitness advertisement), just get out their and play a sport. You can get great social interactions and a great workout at the same time.

The last important step is motivation. Without this you are likely to quit working out. Returning to the way you were before you began your weight loss journey is not how you lose weight. You must stick to the plan, dieting, cardio, lifting or sport. A great way to stay motivated is to acquire a weight loss partner. Not only do they make workouts less boring, they also encourage you and keep you in a proper and healthy mindset that ensures you success in losing however much weight you want to. Another way is to read positive and reinforcing literature. This will keep you motivated and happy and that happiness transfers over to your weight loss. You can also choose to eat healthy foods, which will make you feel better and healthier and also benefit your weight loss. Losing weight is not an easy task. Choosing a plan and sticking to it is how you lose weight.
