In 2004 the FDA banned alkaloid containing natural Ephedra for use in dietary supplements. But it did not ban all the Ephedra varieties.

Since there are 32 different varieties, there are many products that are still produced using the ones that have not been banned.

They include Diet Fuel, Thermadrene, Hydroxycut, Stacker and Xenadrine. We suggest that you stay away from these products all together.

PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS

The next natural weight loss supplements we want to cover are protein supplements. They are considered by many to be body building supplements.

The most common ones are made up of whey, milk, egg and soy.

They are advertised as supplements that can help you build muscle and increase your strength, but they are simply powdered food. Our suggestion is to use them only for convenience purposes.

And as far as protein bars–you should avoid them all together, since they are nothing but expensive candy bars.

HOODIA

The third natural supplement we want to cover is Hoodia gordonii. Hoodia is an extract from an African cactus plant.

This natural weight loss supplement supposedly tricks your brain into thinking that it has eaten, by acting like a sugar.

This supplement is not a stimulant like Ephedra, but you never know what else is added into the product that you buy.
