Breakfast seemed the natural starting point when I set about teaching myself about everyday nutrition. Healthy breakfast food make a difference to mental and physical well being throughout each day, and into the future, so it’s a great place to get started.
There is no definitive listing on what a healthy breakfast includes, but it’s not so tough to figure it out. The first meal of the day is all about getting yourself ready for whatever the day’s events might throw at you. This can vary depending upon your job, lifestyle, and gender. That said, throughout my research I found the same few nutrients and breakfast recipes to be popping up again and again.
It might seem like an obvious one, but fruit is probably the simplest and tastiest ingredient that any healthy breakfast food includes. Fruits are packed with vital vitamins, minerals and amino acids in a state which can be very easily absorbed by the body. Fruit is also full of “good” sugars, which are almost entirely consumed by the body during the course of the day. I have dried fruit for convenience but fresh is even better!
Another easy one! Muesli can take a little getting used to, specially the stuff which is really good for you, but I feel great for the whole day after I’ve had it. Muesli is packed with whole grains which give you lots of fiber and complex carbohydrates to fill you up and keep you going throughout the whole day.
Not just any kind of Yogurt, either. I soon discovered that there are a few stand-out yogurts which every really healthy breakfast includes. Buy fresh, organic, live yogurt! it can be flavored with natural ingredients if you like, but plain goes best with other foods. Yogurt is packed with healthy bacteria to promote excellent digestion throughout the day; it’s also a great source of calcium and protein, which are mostly absent from Fruit and Muesli.
My research and subsequent discovery of Herbalife gave me one more great idea: Protein shakes as a healthy breakfast food. There’s one reason I fell in love with Herbalife protein shakes. Well there are MANY reasons to fall in love with Herbalife shakes, but in the end they all come down to one thing: excellent nutrition.
I’ll keep eating my yogurt, muesli and fruit, but the Herbalife breakfastis quickly becoming my favorite and easiest healthy breakfast idea and option. Also this shake helps me lose weight it’s as simple as that.
By eating these few ingredients I found that vital protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acid, fiber and good carbohydrates are all taken care of right at the start of my day.
What’s more, this combination doesn’t include a single unhealthy sugar or fat to weigh me down during a busy day.
