What are the dangers
of a fast weight loss diet?


A fast weight loss diet is a dangerous strategy to use for losing weight.

The reason is very simple, when you lose weight fast, it mostly comes from you lean body mass, and not from your body fat.

The loss of muscle and water, which are part of your lean body mass, have some serious consequences for your health.

When you lose too much water, dehydration can cause your kidneys to work improperly.

After your body has taken what it needs from the food, waste is sent to the blood. And blood is mostly made up of water.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE DEHYDRATED

If your kidneys do not remove these wastes, the wastes would build up in the blood and cause damage to your body.

What actually happens is once your body senses dehydration it calls upon your liver to help your kidneys with their filtering process.

One of the main functions of your liver is to synthesize, store and process (metabolize) fats, including fatty acids (used for energy) and cholesterol.

When it must help your kidneys out with the filtering process, the fat in your body is not used as efficiently.

And of course this leads to your body storing this excess fat in your fat cells, leading to additional unwanted body fat.
