Is there such a thing as a carb free diet?
If there is a carb free diet, my recommendation is to stay away from it. When you take away carbohydrates, all you are left with is protein and dietary fat. This spells disaster for your energy levels, and in the long term your health. A moderate approach is to consume 50% of your calories from carbohydrates. An extreme low carb diet suggests consuming 30% of your calories from carbohydrates. Consuming no carbohydrates on a daily basis will cause your energy levels to drop and will lead to weight gain. Protein is used by your body to build new muscles and all other structures in your body. Dietary fat is used by your organism as fuel but it is a more concentrated source of fuel it is definitely not the most preferred. Dietary fat contains 9 calories per gram and protein contains a lot of saturated fats. This combination is the worst approach to nutrition and should be avoided like the plague. If you want to lose weight and create a lean healthy body, consuming moderate amounts of carbohydrates, lean protein and dietary fat is the best approach that you can use. A carb free diet is a low carb diet taken to the extreme. Since a low carb diet with 30% of your calories coming from carbohydrates is considered unhealthy by most health experts, a nutrition approach where you consume no carbohydrates should never be considered. In my
low carb
section of this site I explain how to lose weight effectively using a low carb approach that does not have the negative consequences of a conventional low carb diet. By using this technique you can produce some really impresive results, but it is an advanced technique and I recommend to use it only after mastering the basics and fundamentals of proper nutrition and exercise. This is what my site is really all about, and it is the only way to create permanent weight loss. Manipulating nutrient intakes can help you to burn body fat, but it must always be used in moderation, and never taken to the extreme!
