6 Pack Abs, Ripped Abs, And
The Truth About Creating
Permanent Fat Loss

In this article we will cover the creation of 6 pack abs, and why to create ripped abs you must first -- create permanent fat loss!

If you are exercising your abdominal muscles 4-5 times per week, doing 10 sets of 100 reps and not getting satisfactory results, then this article might be just what you are looking for.

Many people structure their abdominal exercise program based on a completely false premise.

This false premise is called The Spot Reduction Myth. Without a doubt it is the most common misconception in the entire fitness industry!

The Spot Reduction Myth implies that it is possible for you to burn unwanted body fat from specific areas by training those specific areas with resistance.

This is why so many people are trying to create 6 pack abs by doing 1000 crunches per day.

Obviously if you believe that this can eventually help you to produce ripped abs, then you will try doing abdominal exercises to burn off fat from your abdominal area.

The truth is that this notion of targeting fat loss from specific areas of the body is completely and totally false!

You simply can't target fat loss, period! Trying to lose fat from specific areas of your body will never produce the desired results.

Here is the truth about creating 6 Pack Abs!

Whenever you train with weights or do any kind of other resistance training, you are simply stimulating the specific muscles that are involved in the movement.

This muscle stimulation has almost zero effect on the unwanted body fat stores in and around that area!

The only way to create 6 pack abs, and to produce abdominals that loook ripped is to achieve permanent fat loss. And this can occur only when you reach a low total body fat level.

In other words, when you place your body into a calorie deficit for a prolonged period of time, by using proper nutrition and exercise, you will lose body fat from your entire body.

By shrinking all of your fat cells, permanent fat loss can be achieved, and this will cause your abdominal muscles to appear flat, separated, and defined.

By reducing the layer of fat sitting on top of your muscles, and reaching a low body fat percentage your 6 pack abs will become visible.

Because the truth is that everyone already has six-pack abs, they are simple covered up with a layer of unwanted body fat.

If you are a man, and you reach a body fat percentage of about 8% to 10%, then you will have ripped abs.

If you are a woman then you will have to try to reach a body fat percentage of about 13% to 15% for your abs to appear flat, separated, and defined.
What this all really means is that if you want to have ripped abs, and a visible 6 pack you must take some simple, but very effective actions toward achieving permanent fat loss.

Since reaching a low body fat level has nothing to do with the specific ab exercises that you perform in the gym or at home, what will it take for you to burn off the layer of unwanted body fat that is sitting on top of your muscles?

Your first step is to design an effective healthy eating strategy where you are consuming your daily maintenance calorie intake, focus on eating four averaged sized meals, every four walking hours of the day. This meal frequency/timing strategy is covered in this fitness nutrition article.

It is also very important to use a moderate 50-30-20 nutrient ratio when creating your fat-burning meals. This healthy diet plan article has the information about correctly using this approach.

The 50-30-20 macro-nutrient ratio simply means that 50% of your daily calories should come from consuming natural, unrefined complex carb, 30% from lean protein, and 20% from good dietary fat.

Make sure to drink plenty of water during the day, and keep an eye on the calories that you consume from your beverages on a daily basis. This water and weight loss article explains why this is so important.

In this calorie counter article I explain everything about how to count your calories, and why knowing your optimum daily calorie intake is one of the most important elements of proper nutrition!

Most people don't count the calories that they realistically consume on a daily basis and end up consuming more total calories during the day than they burn.

Conclusion:

If your major health goal is to create ripped abs, and have a visible 6 pack, then lowering your overall body fat percentage, and creating permanent fat loss is the absolute primary factor involved.

Obviously you will have to use cardio workout routines to burn off the unwanted body fat that is covering your abs and use weight training weight loss workouts to maintain and eventually build your lean muscle mass.

Your first step should be to maintain your muscle while you are in the weight loss phase of your program, and only after you reach a low body fat percentage to adjust your approach and to start building new muscle, if this is something you desire.

Otherwise, you should simply choose an effective cardio training and weight training approach where you will be able to maintain a low body fat percentage year round.

The permanent fat loss strategy covered in this article will allow you to become a proud owner of a set of 6 pack abs, and maintaining these ripped abs will become a reality.

But, if you do not design a sustainable approach where you follow a proper diet, and use cardio training and weight training on a regular basis, then most likely it will only be a matter of time until the fat that you worked so hard to lose -- will creep back on.
